In the premier division, the Aggie first side went 3-0 and did not yield a single try! They blanked Nebraska 31-0 and Oklahoma State 20-0 en route to the final. They then survived a spirited Iowa State club 17-12 in overtime for the championship. The Aggies dominated possession and territory, but the ISU flyhalf kept the cyclones alive by nailing 3 long penalty conversions and slotting a drop goal. The 2nd side, fresh off a 72-12 drubbing of Angelo State and 34-0 shutout of Texas State in the past two weekends, played very well in the developmental bracket, posting a 2-1-1 record. They shutout Kansas 27-0 and the Nebraska 2nd side 13-0. They ran into trouble in wet conditions against a combined Nebraska/Iowa state squad 10-10, and suffered a tough loss on a last second kick to Texas Tech's 1st side 12-15. |
