Baton Rouge , LA - The Aggies suffered a heartbreaking loss 8-15 on Saturday to league rivals LSU in Baton Rouge.  The Ags tried to push aside a couple weeks of rainouts, missed practices, and numerous injuries but fell short against a tenacious, well-drilled Tiger side out for revenge and a big home upset.

The Tigers dominated territory and possession in the first half with an effective kicking game and capitalizing on Aggie handling errors.  Behind strong running from their centers, a very effective lineout, and greater intensity at the breakdowns the Tigers ran out to a 12-3 halftime lead.

The Aggies came out strong in the second half, but handling errors and penalties continued to be their Achilles heel.  Late in the game with less than 5 minutes to go Captain Matt Welsh out hustled the Tiger defense to a chip kick in the end zone to touch down for the Aggies lone try.  The late comeback bid ended fittingly, however, on a penalty, which the Tigers converted to round out the scoring 8-15.

The Aggies look to get back on track with a home game this weekend against Rice.
